Experience the enchanting Herrenchiemsee Palace on a day trip from Munich with my public arrangements.
Open groups are limited to 15 participants and travel to the palace by train.
Private trips include city pickup in a limousine for two or in a van for groups of up to six.
Enjoy the Bavarian scenery
After a scenic drive to the shores of Lake Chiemsee, you’ll take a boat to Herrenchiemsee Island, where the beautifully decorated palace grounds are located.
You can choose to walk along the forest path to the palace entrance or take a horse-drawn carriage.
Inside, the experience continues
The palace administration will conduct a guided tour, and we will arrange your tickets if you haven’t purchased them in advance.
Later in the day, you are welcome to continue on to Fraueninsel (Women’s Island) to admire the monastery there and, of course, enjoy lunch.
I will organise your transportation. The boat trip will be conducted by my guide. I will arrange your tickets upon request to ensure your day is perfect.
History with a touch of fun
During the tour, you will learn about the historical background and the unique affection the Bavarian people have for our King Ludwig II. Some call him eccentric, but I prefer the term visionary. Money limited his options, but his courage enabled him to build these jewels, even though he only spent a few days of his life there.
Magnificent and typical of our beloved ruler, Herrenchiemsee Palace is a place of dreams and the unattainable power he sought throughout his life. Superlatives are always debatable, but I dare say that the Hall of Mirrors is even more beautiful than the original at Versailles.
A special aspect of this destination is the abundance of leisure activities, which my guide will also explain.
